Hi list

I became aware of a Jewish station transmitting somewhere from
Brooklyn NY recently. Tonight around 0230z, I used my DX-398 and my
RadioShack loop and tuned to 1710 sure enough, when nulling out all
the electrical buzzes I heard some music possibly in Hebrew, music
sounded as if it had something to do with that. After that at 0235z,
some guy talking for like 20 minutes or more. Sounds indeed like
Hebrew to me.

Anyone have any info?

Here in NYC, probably 5 miles tops from these guys, I can pull them,
using a Terk AM loop and a Sangean 505 or a sony 7600. I would bet
even lesser radios would work, with a good passive loop.

I have mostly caught them on Sat. NIGHT (that is, after shabbat). On
those occasions, they play some music, but the feed is mostly speech.
About 50/50 English and Hebrew. I also think the Hebrew includes some
Yiddish. I also think they are replaying content from elsewhere.

I've caught them for at least 2 years now. They seem to exist in that
weird area of off-times and off-freq's.

I think I have a tape somewhere, if you wanna check your reception
against it.
