I have the FL-44A in my ICOM ICR-70 and love it. The filter is very sharp
and performs much better than the old ceramic filter. It is very nice for
DX'ing in toight spots. For me it was worth the money when I got it years
ago.

Hi all
I have an Icom R71 and am considering paying out for either an FL-44a
or an Inrad equivalent. I'd be most grateful if anyone who has
experience of this upgrade could let me know what they think. Is it
worth the cost and does it really make a difference to the performance
of this excellent receiver?
I listen mostly to SW broadcast stations, but do so in SSB mode when
the going gets tough. Would the FL-44a help with tough DX-ing?
Cheers
Andy
