I would give Paul a call....................he should have them in stock.
Tell him that I sent you. I could tell you that he doesn't have manuals
available for that radio. If you ever get down to the Chicago area (Mount
Prospect), if you stop in, I can do the mod for you free of charge.

Is yours a newer unit, or an older one? Some of the older units had a
fixed
270uH inductor as a tuning element in the 1st 455kHz I.F. stage. This is
in
parallel with a 470pF chip cap. Sometimes, the tolerances of that fixed
inductor would cause a loss in sensitivity. If this is the case, it can
be
replaced with a variable inductor. I did that with mine, and the NF
improved quite a bit, to the point of having an MDS of .1uV down to
200kHz,
degrading to .3uV at 100kHz. Another thing that helps this radio below
500kHz quite a bit is having a good ground. I use a power supply that has
a
3 wire cord, and having that ground connection improves the low end
signals
by around 3 S-units.

This sounds great. Are there service manuals available and do you have a
Mouser
number or something of the coil used???
