1,000 watts is a lot of power with the right conditions ! I've never heard
of that station, but I have heard Paraguay (not recently) on 9735 before in
spanish. I think you made a good catch ! I check in frequently on a
frequency like that to see if it pans out consistently. I have been trying
to catch Mauretania on 4845 and finally succeeded this afternoon around
00:00 utc.

Sometimes things happen that you hesitate to believe, hence I'm asking
for other opinions here. At 00:30UTC, I got a listenable (though hashy)
reception on 7370kHz that I can only find reference to as R.Dif. America
from Ascuncion, Paraguay. The *highest* transmitter power I can find
for this is 1,000 watts.
Using an ICOM R-75 with a 60 foot longwire. I just started using the
ICOM, and don't want to be fooling myself. Two male voices, doing what
seemed to be a news/jocular commentary thing in Spanish (I speak it).
Anyone? I've never made a catch that good before, and I don't want to
do any victory jigs if I can't back it up.

Tony
