Behold, Stinger signalled from keyed 4-1000A filament:
World domination? Well Gregg, it's sort of like my stance on gun
control. If there's a gun around, I'd like to be the one that controls
it ;^)
That's logical. Unfortuneately it's usually someone with political
motivations that's doing the aiming and trigger pulling for you :-(
The United States hasn't made an policy of world domination. It simply
happened because our system of government allowed us an unparallelled
way of life, envied by many, but achievable by few others, because few
others can change course without a total meltdown. There was no
"agenda."
Nope, it's not policy, nor do I believe it is - it's just happening!
Of course, folks like you would love to change all that and follow a
system that simply collapsed in eastern Europe, and will eventually fall
in France, Germany, and similar states. They simply can't match our
productivity.
Ahhhhh, but I am not a communist. Socialist is a broad term, if I had to
make a definition, it would be neo-Marxist.... power to the people, with a
worker-based structure ;-)
It will take them some time. A couple of years ago, I volunteered to
show some Russian and Ukrainian construction company executives some
large projects my company was involved with. They asked questions like
"If a person gets tired of working, can they just quit?"
It's going to take a learning curve starting at a very basic level for
them. But they know first-hand, the struggle will be worth it.
That goes in hand with any drastic political change. Even in my province,
we went from left, socialist NDP to right-wing Liberal party and we are in
economic chaos with a social structure falling to dust as it's sold to the
highest bidder. Our labour laws changed so drastically overnight, an
employer or employee had no clue as to their new rights and powers until a
week later when the new law was made public in print.
Now, if that's the turmoil on a small scale in a democratic society, I can
imagine what the folks you talk to went through.
The thought of everything in America (hospitals, schools, supermarkets,
etc.) running with the same unbridled efficiency of your local
Department of Motor Vehicles car tag office should be enough to turn the
lights on in even your thick head.
From the info from my American friends, there's a 50/50 split on
opinion there ;-)
