Chicago ain't quite ready to give up the Goat yet........... ; )
BTW - that ball was going INTO the stands.
There was NO FREAKIN WAY that Moises Alou
could have reached up and caught that foul ball - PERIOD!
The Umpires on site that night should have
reviewed the videoand ruled it a foul ball.
History:
1) A disgruntled fan cast the first curse in 1945, after being
turned away by gatekeepers who denied entry to his goat.
The Cubs lost that season's World Series and have never returned.
2) A black cat cast the next hex, pacing back and forth
in front of the Cubs dugout in 1969.
3) A (jewish) guy named Bartman catches a wild foul ball
and becomes the Cub's newest "sacrificial goat/lamb" etc....(go figure)
"Cubs fans have always been their own worst
enemies, reveling in oh-woe-are-we losing and
believing in curses until their Cubbies begin to
see ghosts. Now Cubs fans are blaming one
of their own for costing them a World Series.
Blaming a poor soul who didn't miss one
grounder or fail to yank one pitcher"
