To be honest, I don't know how much soccer you can hear on shortwave but I
do hear them broadcast live from time to time.

For a good value for dollar radio, you'll here these two mentioned as the
best. They are both actually considered to be "standards".

The Sony 7600gr

The Grundig YB-400.

I have used both of them. They are excellent radios. Price range on both
of them is about $150.00.

Hi...

I'm a computer scientist, very interested in soccer around the world.
I can get some games on cable, but a boatload of them on shortwave.

Which leads me to the question: I surfed this newsgroup and know
that I have no idea what most of you are talking about.

All I know is that:
1. I want a receiver
2. I want a good one

What do I want/need?
Is there some sort of book I can/should buy which will help me
decypher the lingo of shortwave?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Joe
