When they came for me, there was no one left to protest on my behalf."

Clint, is your last name Ashcroft? Is Clint a screen name?

Why is the idea of practicing the right of free speech regarded as
Anti-American?

Of the Partiot Act,

Hermann Goering, Hitler's Reich-Marshall, speaking at the Nuremberg
Trials following WWII

http://www.snopes.com/quotes/goering.htm

"Why of course the people don't want war. Why should some poor slob on a
farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it
is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally the common people
don't want war neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in
Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the
country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to
drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist
dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no
voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders.
That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked,
and denounce the peacemakers For lack of patriotism and exposing the
country to danger. It works the same in any country."

Read the above paragraph carefully. Visit the provided link. Correlate
this to 911, and viola, the need for the Partiot Act is seriously in
question.

Lastly, the politically correct movement is not one in the same as the
conservatives that you lambaste, in fact they are the opposite. If, as
you suggest, we have overplayed it, the PC movement should be increasing.

Absolutley nothing wrong with the patriot act.
You're simply anti-american. Yes, I said it, and I stand
behind it. The idea that so many innocents have been dragged off
in the middle of the night handcuffed, gestapo style, without any
rights is totally false and overplayed.

THAT'S why the politically correct movement is on the decline and
losing grip; you guys have overplayed it.
