The author is probably talking about an MPS3866; I am not sure if this is a
plastic version of a 2N3866, which was a very strong CATV type of
transistor.

have looked in all my transistor reference books and can find no reference
to this transistor. The article is mute on the type of toroidal used for

transformer.

Does anybody remember this article and has anybody research or, better

yet,
built the active antenna. If so could you please give me some help,
especially in regard to the transistor. Like, what would be a suitable
replacement or, what are the specs on it.
