I connect to rg6 usinf an F to TNC adapter and then use a TNC to N adapter

Electrically, the tv coax should work nearly as well as rg58.
Only problem I see is the foil inner shield in tv coax might be
trickier to solder to a standard pl-259 plug that you will screw onto
your transceiver. The connectors they used to attach to a tv input
won't fit your transceiver.
