I just picked up a 12 year old Sony 2010 in very very nice condition and
working perfectly. With this radio being 12 years old, how many years of
reliable service should it have left. Thanks for any info. on this
subject...I don't really understand the technical stuff behind these

radios
and hope the damn thing can run another 12 years and not even blink, but
perhaps that is wishful thinking???

I have a Sony ICF-2001 (not ICF-2001D) that is 23 years old and still works
fine.

I have a Sony TFM-116 that is 41 years old and still works fine.

So I anticipate my 10 year old Sony ICF-2010---not to mention my Sony CD
players, Sony Walkman, Sony TV, Sony headphones, Sony tape recorder (all
about 10 to 20 years old) will certaintly outlast me.

Then again... my car is in excellent shape (21 years old), I still use a
Motorola 'Brick' cell phone (14 years old) and my
FRG-7 (23 years old) is still in the double box in factory new condition
with all accessories untouched (including QC tag). My Drake TR-4 (26 years
old) is in pristine condition and is also in the factory box with it's QC
tag too.

Heck... I even have a 60 year old ARC-5 Command Set in an unopened factory
carton!

How long it lasts depends on how well you take care of it...

Sincerely,

RG
