DAN,

Are you talking about plain old silver duck tape ?

Or, the shinny Aluminum Foil (Metal) Tape ?

Probably the shiny aluminium foil tape, you know, the kind of stuff some people
fashion hats with.

This may sound odd, ( & look odd whilst doing it, ) but it does work:
Wrap silver duct tape around all the antenna lead-ins; it cuts down on Noise
considerably;

Try wearing headphones & tune to a SW station while you do this; You can
actually hear the noise " Go Away"

i don't know who on this list suggested to unplug the cable modem to see if
it made a difference in the noise level on my receiver.
well i tried it last night and what a difference!!! from s-8 to s-6.
so i then tried 3 ferrite chokes on it and that cleared all the noise from
that!

then i changed my co-ax from just regular cable t.v. co-ax to some well
shielded direct burial co-ax and that took noise down from s-6 to s-3.

so far there seams to be no negative side affects from these changes.(loss
of signal)

now if i could just get ride of the noise from my computer monitor, i have
tried chokes with no change in noise level.
i guess the best thing to do is get a l.c.d. monitor, but thats just too
expensive right now!

many thanks to all that have helped with all my questions
