I received one of the Kaito 007 as a xmas gift, and honestly I am quite
pleased with its performance. It is exactly what it is. A 40.00 radio that
has solar, dyno, and wal wart. The nice thing is that in direct sunlight it
will recharge the internal 1800mAH NiMH (3 AA) batteries pretty good. These
will be pretty easy to replace with some higher capacity ones if/when the
time comes. Gives about 8 hours of play on a 10-12 hours direct sunlight
charge. It will also play directly from the solar panel. But it has to be
"direct" sunlight. The hand dyno is pretty easy to crank, not like the
freeplay witch sent my wrist into "throb mode" pretty quick like. Seems to
be a lot of imaging. Don't know if that is the correct word or not. For
example I hear repeat of some stations over the dial. Especially in MW and
FM. I can and do pick up my local PD and FD. hmmm what else.... it is
small. I like small. I pretty much requested it as a kinda of throw about.
Something that I am not worried about sitting in the trunk of my car. And
it fits the bill.

- Maybe thats why they say only crank it for a few minutes,
these are radios that can disturb the basic fabric of the Universe..!
