AJG,

"No that is not my point. It is that Bush did not do his duty
back then. He drew on family connections to help him out, like
many people likely did."

So then what do you say about former president Clinton using his
personal 'connections' to help himself out to "Avoid Any" Miitary
Service (and Vietnam) and Clinton's active dislike for the US
Military ?

What Say You AJG ?

Are You Honest and Consistant AJG ?

No that is not my point. It is that Bush did not do his duty back
then. He drew on family connections to help him out, like many people
likely did. It's just that most of them don't go about in a bellicose
manner.

There was a little Army post in Ethiopia. That's where I was during Vietnam.
In your mind everyone that was stationed there, or anywhere else, during
that time was a draft dodger, right?

I often get confused but Bush did not go to Vietnam like many of his
generation, did he?

I take your point but perhaps what I meant to say is that deaths of
soldiers only matter when it's election time. Do you know the famous
photograph of Dwight D. Eisenhower taken at Greenham Common airbase in
England on the 5th June 1944? I know he was not a president at the
time but the photograph clearly shows how he feels. He's looking his
men in the eye asking them to do their duty but knowing full well many
will be die. I think it shows an understanding of what was in store
for those brave airborne soldiers and his sincerity shines through.
Bush the draft dodger

Where is your *proof* that Bush is a draft *dodger*?

I think you might be a bit confused with your usage of the word.
