How strong is a printed circuit board or silicon chip ? I doubt it would do
well if dropped any more than a pc would S. Don't mean to be sarcastic,
but if you make a microscopic crack in the circuit board it's a goner.

Has anyone ever dropped a Grundig S350? How flimsy are they when
dropped? Would you consider giving one to a building contractor?

Circuit boards are tough. Mostly fiberglass, glue and copper.

Silicon is pretty sturdy. You can drop a wafer on the desk without it
breaking.
