It's a damn good radio, but calling it a portable is a bit misleading. It
takes
a slew of batteries and drains them in less than 3 hours.

Find a rechargable battery from an old (!) cell phone. Makes operation much
easier. Got my batteries from American Science Center here in town, they are
also online.
