Now we can hear Thailand all year round, not just in the winter (as
was
the case with 13695 at 0030 via Udorn Thani). A big thanks to VOA for
making
this possible for North American listeners, and people from Thailand who
might
be living or studying in the US, who might take advantage of this
oppurtunity
to hear Radio Thailand with local-like reception.

Personally, as a DXer, I'd rather be listening to a station broadcasting from
Thailand, instead of North America.

As a listener, I prefer broadcasts beamed towards North America to
originate from New World relays. I noticed that over the last couple
weeks Radio Exterior de Espana's broadcast in English for NAm on 6055 at
0000 originating from Noblejas, Spain was totally inaudible or close to
it because of seasonal changes (now that they've switched to 15385 for
A04 it should improve). The fact that broadcasts targeted towards the
Americas originate from transmitters in the Americas doesn't stop me
from trying to DX transmitters on native soil. I've logged Voice of
Vietnam's Xuan Mai transmitter in Vietnamese despite the fact that they
use Sackville to broadcast to North America.

What's your "DX perspective" on so many countries going toward using VOA relay
facilities, Steve?

Why don't you guys stop filling bandwidth with your silly feud and allow
the rest of us to read SW related posts?
