I just pulled mine out of the box (arrived today) and my antenna is tight
like that, too. :P I guess I have to live with it as I am not comfortable
opening it up and putting oil on it. I used to be, but after making a few
mistakes, I decided I was not electronically inclined except for computers.

Any other ideas? Isn't there a screw to loosen or something? Or do I just
have to be really careful when turning the antenna?
