Default RF Systems mini-Windom: the secret (I think) - again

Hi Ross,

I'm writing with reference to the discussion "RF Systems mini-Windom:
the secret (I think)" from Aug. 2000. Few days ago I started thinking
about a short antenna like the RF Systems "Mini-Windom" because the
long wire(7,5 meters) doesn't work well with my Yaesu VR-5000.Maybe
you can help me to clone your antenna? I have following questions:

1. What material your using for your antenna(copper wire or coax
cable)? I found that the original "Mini-Windom" antenna is made
from RG-174 cable.

2. How you found the transformer ratio 9:1? I want to use 50 Ohms need
to find the right balun for me or move the feedpoint.

3. Did you make any other improvements to your antenna? The original
antenna is approx. 16 feetlong and your "clone" is approx. 12 feet
long.

4. Do you have any other tips or suggestions for this kind of
antennas?

Christoph
