According to
http://www.guampdn.com/news/stories/20040416/localnews/238521.html
one of them (Evan Montvel-Cohen) used to be "chief of staff for former
Republican Sen. Tommy Tanaka" and "collected and spent nearly $15,000 for
several negative television and print ads about Democratic Sen. Ben
Pangelinan" -- in Guam, that is.

Well, that's interesting. Further:

"Montvel-Cohen had been hired by attorney Randall Cunliffe to dig deeper
into a list of alleged illegal voters that had been presented as evidence by
attorneys for losing candidate Joseph Ada."

"A year later, Montvel-Cohen was chairman of "Concerned Citizens for Honesty
and Integrity in Government," which collected and spent nearly $15,000 for
several negative television and print ads about Democratic Sen. Ben
Pangelinan and several Republican candidates."

The news story has Cohen going after both Democrats and Repblicans, although
Cohen is associated with the Republicans. I suppose Cohen doesn't have to
be partisian Democrat or Republican. Maybe he's in it just for the fight.
Air America is certainly strident enough.

Do you think Cohen and Liu each might have "Anger Management" problems? I
mean Cohen didn't have to stop the check. The LA issue would get resolved
the same either way. And Liu didn't have to kick Air America off either of
his stations. Again, the issue would get fixed behind the scenes. And if
Liu was really getting $600/hr out of Air America, this contest will get
real expensive, real fast.

Thanks for the link!
