Sell it to me. I'll give you $20.00 plus shipping and handling. Zip code
77015. Send me an email with the subject "sony 2010" at my hotmail address,
and I'll reply with my regular email and phone number. I am getting back
into electronics after 10 years on disability, and would love to have a 2010
to fix. I am currently buildng an antenna tuner/RF amplifier to go with the
new antenna I am about to put up, and am really hot to pick up a fixable
desktop unit to take the place of my portable (RS DX-402/Sangean ATS 505).
If need be I'll enter a bidding war, but I only have so much disposable
cash, being on disability. There have been very few things that I have ever
tried to fix but couldn't, and I would love to cut my teeth all over again
on a "real" radio.
Thanks,
Dave

I have a Sony ICF-2010 that is appr. 10 years old. Last year, one of
my darling children
pulled it off a counter, and it dropped about
three feet onto a vinyl kitchen floor. After this, the radio is
absolutely dead, whether I use the 110V transformer or batteries to
attempt to power up the unit. Sony has a flat repair fee of $113 to
fix the unit, but with fine print "does not cover abuse". In any
event, I would prefer to buy a smaller radio than repair the 2010 for
this price.
My question is whehter this radio is worth anything to a hobbyist? I
can put this on EBay, but if I'm only going to get $5 for it I might
as well chuck it in the trash now. Thanks for the info.
