Hi Larry
Back in the days of external TV antennas and 300 ohm twin lead,
the usual practice was to twist the line about 1 turn/foot to minimize
interactions with nearby conductors.
Additionally, the distance between the ladder line conductors is a good
measure, keep the line 10 or so, more is better, of that unit away from
other conductors.

Have just installed a 135' doublet fed with 450ohm commercial ladderline.
The position of the ladder line as it comes alongside the house and into
the shack is currently very close to where the electrical service line
comes in. Luckily I am not picking up any power line noise but I wonder
how critical is it that I try to keep the ladderline away from the house
and particularly conductive items? IF it is critial how far should I try
to stand it off? Comments appreciated.
