Thank you sincerely for your kind words about my self-appointed task of
re-creating these classic "Amos 'n' Andy" programs which, although they

listened to by the whole country when they were originally on the air,

never recorded!
I've been doing these programs that began on March 19th, 1928 and am now
up to
episode number 1,666, and I intend to keep on doing them as long as the
Good
Lord gives the me the breath and energy to keep on doing them!
I've read your letter, which will be on WBCQ's program on Wednesday, May
12th
(actually, it's the night of Tuesday,
May 11th at 12 midnight, but technically, it's actually Wednesday morning
early).
Thanks also for your contribution and the letter to your newsgroup. Maybe
it
will result in a few more contributions to help keep "Amos 'n' Andy" on
the
air!
By the way, I also have a Hammarlund HQ-129-X; in fact, I have THREE of
them!
I'm a ham radio operator and you can hear me on or around 3890, 3885 or
3880
kilocycles nightly on A.M. with my other A.M. friends, talking, after
"Amos n
Andy" goes off the air at 12:15 AM. (My call-sign is WA3PUN.)

I got this today, and it brought a smile to my face. Thought I'd share it
(since this has all been shared with the group) with you all. :-)
