Art Bell, unlike George Noory, is quite versed in radio technology. Bell is
an amateur radio operator and I've heard him talk quite a bit about
shortwave and ham radio.
Noory, on the other hand, knows virtually nothing about radio. A few years
ago he interviewed Kevin Mitnick who is also a ham, and Mitnick ahd to
explain to him how VHF radio works.
It was quite embarassing. Not all Art Bell/Coast to Coast Listeners are
radio aficionados, but I think most radio aficionados have tuned into Art
Bell from time to time, if not for the laughs, then just to tune their
radios

hey..
during the open lines portion of Coast To Coast AM tonight, a caller was
talking about numerous occaisions where he is listening in on 'numbers
stations' .."alpha, charlie, three, seven"..etc.
i didn't hear the beginning of the call so i don't know if he was
receiving
this in the US or elsewhere..did anyone catch that part of the broadcast?
if so did he mention his location?...i live in pennsylvania and have never
come accross a 'numbers' station.
thanks

The guy lived in the U.S. and told stories of a computer generated voice
giving
off number sequences or Alpha,Bravo, Charlie,Delta...sequences.He also
mentioned a little girl's voice rambling of numbers. George Noory asked
the
caller to make an MP3 file of the SW numbers broadcast and send it to
CoasttoCoastAM (The caller stated he had hours of these recordings) so the
radio network engineers can go over the recordings. This could possibly be
an
upcoming show. Didn't Art Bell do a show on SW number stations ?
