I have to speak up in support of the seller Martyn. I won an ebay bid on an
NRD-525 from him. Tho he advertised "with power cord and manual" the radio
came without them. He offered a $10 refund but it was no biggie. The power
cord is a standard computer type cord and I have extras. And I downloaded
the manual.
The real problem was the encoder for the main tuning. He had advertised
"excellent working condition" but it didn't work. He seemed genuinely
miffed, asked me to ship it back, and then said he had fixed it and it was
fine now. When I got it back it still didn't work. The housing around the
encoder was loose and the back of it easily came open. You could hold it in
such a way that it would sorta work sometimes, but not consistently. I
could see how it might work and then get jiggled and not work. Again he was
miffed, but he located a new one from the UK which was delivered to me at no
cost through Universal. It works fine now and I love the NRD-525.
I think Martyn may be a little careless in how he describes his merchandise.
He seems to sell a lot. Maybe he doesn't pay attention to detail. I don't
think he is dishonest and he certainly made good on my deal and I thank him
for it.
If you're gonna buy on ebay, ask detailed questions. Make sure you know
what you are getting. Ask about return policy. Phone the seller up if
possible.
Good luck!

Subject: has anyone bought from this ebay seller ?
I was looking at all the neat stuff he sells but consistantly seems to
get slammed for not being truthful.
what can people tell me about him before I bid on his stuff ?
