The antenna jack on the Super 909 mod is very simple. The tip is the signal
input, the shield is the receiver ground. If you are looking for an adapter to
go from the 1/8" stereo plug to an RCA connection, there is probably nothing
commercially available. The best thing to do is go down to the local RS,
purchase a RCA plug and a stereo jack. Wire the plug so that 2 wires go to the
tip and ground on the RCA. Next, wire the "ground" wire to the first connection
on the stereo jack (the barrel).... then wire the tip to the tip connection on
the other plug. This will be a custom adapter to go from your current antenna
connection to the RCA jack on the back of the 909.

I'm not sure about your problem. On the 398, when you plug in the short
wave antenna into the 1/8 jack, the ferrite bar (AM) gets shorted out.
This site shows how to use a *stereo* jack to enable both medium wave
*and* short wave antennas on the 1/8 inch jack.

The RCA jack that you had put on the back must be for SW only.

I'm not sure if this helps. Let me know..
