Gal-atz as it is called in Hebrew is run by the Israel Defense Forces so that
the kids in the army, etc, have something to listen to. The IBA domestic
programs could be easily described as "old fart" radio.
However since Galatz is under the government regulation to play almost, if not
all Hebrew music, the army started another radio stattion Gal-Gal-Atz.
(Galatz on Wheels). It was supposed to be a portable service deployed
when the troops were on the move, but it has become a regular service
with studios in Tel Aviv. Since it has no (official) fixed location,
it's not a regular service and can and does play as much English rock as
possible. They also have traffic reports, news, etc.
