One of the small changes from the "B" Model to the "C" Model
was that now the new 'extended' AM/MW Broadcast Band is covered
by the 'B' Band [ 500 kHz to 1700 kHz ] of the MFJ-1020"C".

That's a con-incidence...I was just rereading passport 2004 and read their
rave review of the 1020C, and they even said the previous model (1020B) had
some quality control problems. however, the full page in pop Comm. still
says 1020B...my guess is they just haven't updated their ad copy. I would be
sure to get the "C" version if ordering. Maybe they're up to the "D" by now!
