Hhm, how convenient. Gripe about the trash you see, but change the 'rules'
when
it benefits you to trash the group. Ingenious.
What a great intellectual response. So great in fact that I see you used
it
twice.
You take the time to trash the group (defending it as not being included
in the
trash) because the group doesn't see fit to succumb to your idea of what
comprises on/off-topic posts, and then call those who disagree with you
'assholes'... how irrational. And indefensible.
If you want to clean up the group, start with yourself. Stay on topic,
don't
veer into ****ing contests, or stop visiting altogether.
You'll feel better, we'll feel better, and you won't ever again have to
defend
your point of view against better arguments with simple one-word insults.

Well, what do you expect from the captain? How should the captain handle
flamers, anyway?
1) Reply with an intimidating display of rapier-like wit. Unfortunately,
this is beyond the cranial capacity of some posters.
2) Reply with a repulsive, yet impressive, disgorgement of crude invective.
Ditto the above.
3) Killfile the flamers. Yes, there is a pattern here.
Watch your step, though -- the captain just might narc ya out:
dear mr isp man,
there are people who make rec.radio.shortwave a icky place for children and
mental midgets.
please force the bad posters to be nice so i can be a hero.
thank you, please, thank you, thank you,
the captain
