Hiya...

Has anyone else with the KA1102 also found it to be VERY good for mw ???

YES!! I have noticed the same thing... excellent MW sensitivity. I'm even
close to a flamethrower AM station (KSTP 1500 AM), just a few miles away,
and yet the KA1102's performance is unaffected by the proximity of this
station (can't say this for some other radios I've had).

I live next to a whole GAGGLE of flame throwers... LOL.... Lots of ground
water for conductivity in the Meadowlands area of NJ, so a good place to set
up a mw transmitter. Not to mention the huge media market in the NY/NJ
metro area. 50 kilowatt transmitters to spare :-) The KA1102 is selective
enough to be able to deal with it with little or no intermod.

Still, it is not quite perfect. It does have some noise when you listen to
a very weak station. If I listen to WBT 1110 in Charlotte, NC or WTAM 1100
in Cleveland... Both 50 kilowatt... I still get some snap crackle and pop
with the KA1102. My SR III doesn't get the snap, crackle and pop, but it
takes more effort to tune cause it is not digital like the KA1102.
Regardless, the KA 1102 is the best mw portable I ever used aside from the
SR III.
