Professional car radios installation
I'm about to buy a new car (Toyota Camry) and want to install my shortwave,
satellite, and amateur radios neatly. I notice the car has a large shelf
below the center console in front of the floor mounted gearshift -- a good
place for a few rigs to fit?
A couple places like Galls and Jotto sell mobile radio racks like the kind
used in police vehicles. I'm not sure whether I want to go this route,
though. Each radio is a different dimension, and some have removable heads,
so the Xmtr/Rcvr units can mount in the trunk. I do know that I don't want
to rip out the factory installed radio unit in the dashboard.
Has anybody had their extra radios professionally installed and if so, how,
and in what kind of car?
Thanks in advance.
