1. News: Wiretap Ruling Could Signal End of E-Mail Privacy
A federal appeals court ruling this week opened the door to
uraveling e-mail privacy as the court declared that
protections under the federal Wiretap Act do not extend to
e-mail messages stored on an e-mail provider's computer
systems. Privacy advocates worry that this will open the
door for service providers to snoop and make cyber-crime
prevention and prosecution more difficult.
