Default Questions about the DEGEN 1103

Is it a Mechanical with a Freq counter?

is the pointer LCD or mechanical?

PLL with a simulated dial, similar to the old Sony ICF-7700/7600DA (but
undoubtably with better performance).

Has anyone tested one out yet?

Feed an ordinary search engine with "de1103 review" and you'll get one.
Subscribe to the "kaito-de1103" Yahoo! Group and you can read the
impressions of users. (Look at the files section for some pics.)

should I just get the DEGEN 1102?

AFAIK the DE1103 performs noticeably better, with less noise and better
IF filters. It even seems comparable to the venerable Sony ICF-SW55 in
terms of reception performance, apart from some distortion in SSB.
Ergonomics still leave a bit to be desired here and there but will
certainly improve with newer models.
