Now a FELONY in FL: Running a pirate station
The Ft. Lauderdale Sun Sentinel reports that the Florida Association of
Broadcasters hosted a meeting in Hollywood to review a law (which took effect
July 1) that makes running a pirate station a third degree felony. Pirate
stations have been an ongoing problem for AM and FM stations across South
Florida, interfering with and blocking out legitimate stations.
