This is what happens when you hire minimum wage lessergrade operators
and call them ''engineers''.

For the last three nights, I noticed the programming on 5.070 was distorted,
like it was overmodulating or something. I noticed it on my PL-550, so I
decided to check another radio to make sure. My DX-398 had the exact same
distortion on 5.070. Neither radio had distortion on any other shortwave
stations. On both radios, I tried to attenuate the signal, but the
distortion didn't go away. I was using the whip only on each radio.
I'm in Kentucky, about 150 miles ENE from Nashville and I know I'm
relatively quite close to WWCR's transmitter. I think that's why 5.070 is
usually very strong and clear on my radio. Their signal remains strong and
unfading, but there is distortion where I've never heard any before.
For that reason, Might this be a propagation issue? Any other ideas?
