With two big storms bearing down on Florida, how about compiling a list of
everybody's fave frequencies for monitoring the action?
690KHz is a good place to start. The Jacksonville station has been
known to operate all night on daytime (non-directional) facilities
during hurricane emergencies.
Other AM news/talk stations may do the same. I suppose 620 and 970 (on
the west coast) and 940 (Miami) would be good frequencies to try. If
it's serious enough, pretty much any station (including the puny little
ones) can be worth trying.
