Thanks, but I've already covered that ground. The connectors are not
threaded per the specs. I reported the problem to the dealer, and they told
me that after checking their stock, they found that about half of the relays
had incorrect threads on the connectors.

So, if anyone is in the market for a coaxial relay and are considering
Tohtsu, make sure that the seller tries a PL-259 on ALL THREE of the
connectors on the relay. Hard to understand how a reputable machine company
could make such a mistake, but it happened. The dealer, Nebraska Surplus
Sales, stepped up to the problem immediately and is doing the right thing.

I picked up a couple of new Tohtsu CX-600M coaxial relays - they are
similar
to the DowKey relays, with three UHF connectors of the SO-239 design. I
had
a problem screwing on the PL-259s more than 3-4 turns and in checking

the
threads I find that the pitch or threads-per-inch of the Tohtsu

connectors
does not match that of the PL-259/SO-239 UHF connectors. I wonder if
anyone
else has run into this problem? I was under the impression that the UHF
connector was a universal item, but maybe that is not true?

Here are the specifications for this coaxial relay from the Tohtsu web

Invented in the 1930's by an Amphenol engineer named E. Clark Quackenbush,
UHF coaxial connectors are general purpose units developed for use in low
frequency systems from 0.6 - 300 MHz. Invented for use in the radio
industry, UHF is an acronym for Ultra High Frequency because at the time

300
MHz was considered high frequency.
