UPDATE: I emailed the author who said I would need .NET Framework
1.1.4322. I deleted 2.0 Beta. Windows update would NOT recognize
that .NET was missing and showed no updates needed. The solution was to
manually download .NET Framework 1.1 and install it from a directory.
Shortwave Log installed fine after .NET Framework 1.1 was installed.
Thanks for all the help. Now to learn to use it....
Oh, the reason 2.0 Beta was so large is I downloaded the entire SDK
(Software Developers Kit) for that program - about 229 MEG.

Jim,
Thanks. I'll take your advice on emailing the author. However, the
beta is already installed. :-( Prior to installing the .NET Framework
2.0 Beta Shortwave Log would simply not install stating that .NET
Framework 1.1.4322 had to be installed before it would install. I
*assumed* that it had to be 1.1.4322 OR HIGHER; but it appears it was
written to require that exact release.
Thanks again. I'll contact the author and see what he suggests. I
don't know the release number of my XP Pro, but .NET Framework 2.0 Beta
installed with no problem -- after finally getting it all downloaded. If
I go into Start control panel add or remove programs it shows 2.0.
Last night I installed service pack 2.

You don't want to play with the beta, I am thinking later versions of

had already installed
the .NET framework. Email the program author and he will get back to you.
The program is well
worth it.

I downloaded Shortwave Log and attempted an install on a Windows XP-Pro
system, but got the message that .NET Framework 1.1.4322 had to be
installed on the system. Went to MS to get it and decided to install
.NET Framework 2.0 BETA instead of the older version. SWLog still
insists on ver. 1.1.4322.
Anyone else had and solved this problem? I hope I don't have to
uninstall 2.0 Beta and install 1.1 instead. I'm on a 56k line and it
takes a loooong time to download over 200 meg! :-)
Thanks,
Al
