I was listening to radio Japan 21:45 to 22:00 UTC on 17825 and 21670
when they signed off on 21670. It looks to me that the transmissions
both originate from Tokyo-Yamata but they were two different music
programs. They were common in content only at the 22:00 UTC
announcement.

What was interesting was that two different transmissions from the same
place had a different reception quality. Both were very strong around
S9 but the 13 meter signal had regular occurring fades to S1 where the
16 meter signal was fairly constant. The almost complete fades were
easily seen with fast AGC setting on 13 meters. The slow AGC setting
was more listen-able.

Then I went to radio Australia at 22:00 UTC on 21740. Nice strong S9
signal there with some of the same regular fades but much faster. The
fading was to fast for even the "fast" AGC to see the full extent of
the fade.
