recurrence. Why treat each and every one like it's never happened
before? The idea of inventories and stockpiles has been a round for a
while now.

One good outbreak and there is a potential for thousands of deaths.


Every year the flu strain is different and they have to cook up a
custom vaccine and make millions of doses, which is still done with
chicken eggs. Getting the eggs is one of the big problems.

Flu Vaccine policy is a mater of national importance; In 1918 tens of
millions of people died in the outbreak. Google it for yourself to
read about it. If we don't get it right, each and every year, a
million people could die.

As early as May 2001 the Bush administration has been getting reports
that indicate there were probelms with the vaccine supply and that
there were 3 factories and the loss of one could create serious
shortages. There have been shortages in 2002, 2003, and now 2004.
Americans have died becasue of this.
