How is it on AM mode?

It's good for taking out heterodynes and tuner uppers..but the dsp makes

voices
sound really strange and hard to understand...but its great at removing

the
tones/tuner uppers/heterodynes..If you operate cw you'll use it for

sure...my
ts450 doesent have any of the cw filters in it and I never felt the need

to add
them..but, unlike many of the newer rigs its dsp at the af stage..not i.f.

like
the newer rigs..good luck..

I just bought another vintage Autek QF-1 audio filter for my bedroom radio
and they work very well but I was also looking at the Timewave and just
curious if it would work in AM mode. The QF-1 is from the 70s and hard to
beat. If you have a older radio and want to bring it up to par filtering
wise the QF-1 and also any of the Gilfer filters ( If you can find them )
are the way to go. Actually the Gilfer filters are the best in my opinion.
Their not in business anymore.
