I see both the Sony SW 55 and SW 77 on ebay.

Which is better ?

Why ?

The SW77 because it has a good sync' detector.

Here are the details:

RL,

Never had my hands on a Sony ICF-SW55, but I have been
able to play with the Sony ICF-SW77 Receiver a few times.

IMHO: The Sony ICF-SW77 has the size and feel of a 'portable'
Table Top Receiver; good sound for a radio of its size; and
with 4 "C" Batteries should last longer then the Sony ICF-SW55
which only uses 4 "AA" Batteries.
