I didn't hear this commentary, and this is not exactly on your topic, but RA
had a guy who commented that alot of countries make aid agencies buy
supplies in the home country with the monies they collect, and that alot of
aid does not leave the donor country. It was hard to get a sense of what
countries that was. I think it is very important to do some good research
before donating to make sure the funds are actually going to the right
places and not remaining in the pockets of the agency collecting it.

There other comment was about suspending interest and debt payments (? 4
billion for Indonesia - not sure I got this right, and I don't know if AUS
$ or other).

Re your topic, there are always the pundits who are prepared to make dumb
comments about anything. BTW I'm betting neither Killer Kofi or the silly
announcer can ski. Kofi Annan lost all credibility when he failed to back
up General Deliaire in Rwanda and let a million+ people get massacred by
not sending in reinforcements for the UN soldiers there in 1993. Delaire's
book "Shake Hands with the Devil" tells the story in complete and
disturbing detail. Unbelievable that Annan is running the UN.
Unbelievable he's running anything at all.

As you know I am a program listener. I'm interested various program
material (read culture) across the globe. Like many I like to hear other
countries take on current events but like any sane human being it has to
be intelligent commentary, which is not necessarily defined by how I
happen to think.

I generally like Green's self effacing humor but there was none this
time around. In its stead was just an ignorant opinion and that was not
enough so he had to extrapolate his tongue-lashing to what we will do
next. You would have thought after the idiot at the UN made the stingy
comment about the US earlier this week Green would have thought better
than going with another knock at nations trying to do good in a time of
need. Essentially it looks to me that people in the UN and people like
Green use the misfortune of others to play their favorite brand of
politicks. This sort of thing makes me ill.

The remark I made about skiing was that Kofi was skiing in Colorado at
the time of the disaster. Because Kofi was off on vacation another UN
idiot made the stingy comments shortly after the disaster and while the
US was actually delivering aid.

I just listened to a news commentary by Robert Green on Radio
Netherlands and concluded that he is a complete idiot. He complains that
the huge response in of money to the tsunami destruction in Asia is due
to western national guilt and not a response to the magnitude of the
destruction and death to that event. He furthers this line of
thoughtlessness by postulating that this act will be leveraged to offset
any future contributions for aid to future disasters.

This is just another demonstration of the liberal mindset at work with
its distortion of facts of an event, the motivations of entities in
response to it and of course how everyone should behave instead.

It also demonstrates how one stupid assumption is magnified as one
continues to use it as a foundation for further conjecture.

Robert Green should forget broadcasting, go skiing with Kofi Annan
instead, and let the world take care of itself.
