While your not totally off base in that it does happen, there also happens
to be a lot of honest folks too. FEEDBACK in E-Bay helps with the buying
from a legit person. I've bought many items. Had a close call twice, but
nothing I couldn't live with. One deal, the person pointed out a problem
with the unit, which turned out not to be a problem. The other, I got
screwed out of a lid, which MAY cost me a few bucks to buy IF I can find
one. In my sales... I've been nothing short of honest and any feedback to
me, proves that.
Though you're entitled to your opinion - obviously ripped off big time, THIS
DOESN'T APPLY TO ALL. E-Bay has it's problems, but it can't be too bad, it
is a thriving business both for them as well as sellers. As long as there
are customers, it will work. I'm sure the ratio of good sellers is a hell of
a lot higher than bad.. WE ALL must work to weed out the bad. It isn't just
here or E-Bay that people are getting screwed. There are scammers EVERY
WHERE. If they don't get you on E-Bay or in a news group, they can get you
on the phone, via your mail box, etc. YOU JUST HAVE TO BE CAREFUL. More now
than ever. I've had ass holes try to rip me off just the other night - on
the phone. Tried to bill a call to me 3rd party.
One other thing.. Warrantees are nice, but not if the dealer or company
isn't so easy to follow up on them. I've had friends who bought "brand new"
and got screwed just the same.. Took one guy 3 years to get his lemon
replaced with a new unit. The original place of purchase refused to take it
back and even tried to insist it was his problem. THEY did do some minor
work on it "claiming" to be an authorized repair center. They weren't any
more factory authorized than MY ass. We found that out after the fact. I
went with the guy on one trip and seen the tricks they were pulling. They
did eventually go out of business. How they were in business as long as they
were, is a major miracle. Their attitude to customers SUCKED.

Who in their right mind would send a perfect stranger a couple
thousand dollars in hopes of getting a radio that worked, wasn't beat
up or the box isn't filled with rocks? Anyone who buys here or on Ebay
is a sap and deserves to be screwed. Quite frankly, you would be far
better off spending your money on a new rig backed by the
manufacturers warranty, etc. The prices on here and Ebay are a joke
and to pay top dollar to have Bubba pack up and send a rig only to be
broken before or after shipment is just retarded. I'm sure there are
legit folks both here and Ebay, but I wouldn't send anyone a check or
money order for a sight unseen radio. Anyone have any good horror
stories?
