Default Radial connections

I have three ground rods each about 30 inches from a leg of my tower. I
want to connect about 40 radials to the tower. It would be much easier to
connect the radials to the ground rods and then have a single connection
from each ground rod to the base of the tower. My interest in 160 meters -
30 meters. Is there a problem with this?

I am using #2 battery cables from the ground rods to the tower base. These
have a nice clamp on one end; with a copper shim the clamp works on the
ground rod. The other end has a lug that fits between a pair of ss washers
that are compressed by an extra 1" nut on the concrete bolts of the tower
base. (I will try to seal this area to keep excessive water from it.) (It
is a small tower in an area not very lightning prone.)
