Hate to be the bearer of bad tydeings, but the ATAS is a 40 meter-thru
450 MHz Screwdriver antenna-- PERIOD! It is NOT an antenna tuner, that
function is in the rig that you use, or, as a company (haven't seen them
advertize for some time) manufacturered a box that would supply voltage
to your coax , to run the motor in the ATAS, allowing it to tune.
Think the voltages (don't quote me!), were something like +12 volts to
the center of coax to extend, and +8 volts (max) to retract the beast to
tune it. this voltage in normally supplied by your Yaesu rig, but as
stated, was company made a box supplying these voltages to the antenna
for other rigs. Yaesu rigs that support these have a menu function for
them- and control the SWR monitoring for this antenna. For any other
rig, you will need to supply the appropriate voltages, while monitoring
the swr, while tuneing it-and this antenna is now up to the ATAS 120,

well it would help if you give more info on your set up
are you using this mobile or base?
do you have the radio chases grounded to earth ground?
if base do you have ant radials? for each band u wish to use?
if mobile is the antenna base grounded to the car chases both at point
of attachment and a extra wire from the base to a chasess ground by
antenna base
it could be the antenna dosn't work or radio can't say for certain
is the antenna plugged directly into the radio?? if your going thur
anything like a tuner or filter etc etc , and if that blocks dc it
won't work
are you following the manual tuning directions exactly it's a bit
tricky at times
did you program the radio to use the ats100?
maybe some of these tips and info might help
