No instructions come with it because at the time (50's-60's), every ham
could hook up a
VFO without even thinking about it.
I hate to say it, but if you are giving up so easily, perhaps you should put
your ham license on ebay.
I don't mean to get you all bent out of shape, but it is one of those things
that just takes some sniffing around.
I tried to look on BAMA for the schematic on the Scout. It would not
download for me.
Anyway, I am guessing that the jumper on the Scout is the filament voltage.
It is jumpered because nothing is connected to it and it simply is
continuing the AC loop.
Disconnect the jumper, and measure those two pins with an AC voltmeter. If
you get 6.3 volts, then you found the pins you need for filament voltage.
Yes, remove the jumper, Now the scout won't work because the filament
voltage loop has been broken. When you hook up the VF1's green and yellow
wires, you've reconnected the loop. Both radio and VFO's filaments should
light. At the moment, forget about the VF1's red wire. That is the high
voltage, and you can worry about that after you get the filaments lit.
I have a VF1, and its manual. If I can get BAMA to work, I'll look at the
Scout wiring.
I'll let you know what I find out.

Why do I want to talk on this thing as there is no one to talk to
anyway.
Forget it, I'm tossing the friggen thing and buying a computer...
