One of the favorite portable antennas of the HFPack group
(http://www.qsl.net/hfpack/freq.html#REGIONAL) is the BuddiPole
antenna. There are commercial and home-brew versions (see above
links). I built one. The homebrew is pretty flimsy, but fun to build
and play with.
