I've made two trips with my daughters this winter into the Cascade Mountain
foothills (near Mt. Rainier) trying to find snow for sledding, but both
times found no snow. The papers around here are saying that we only have 28%
of the normal snowpack in the Cascades.
Meanwhile, it's been sunny all week and my lawn was overgrown. So Tuesday I
hauled out the lawnmower, which growled to life slowly, seemingly upset at
being woken early out of a winter hibernation.
They are calling this another "El Nino" winter up here, but I think we'll
likely have water shortages in the summer and an early fire danger season.
