Probably over 200. But he built them into this commerical empire, and
throws his money back into them.

But when you say he throws 'his money into them' you're talking about
media generated funds. That's not money out of his own pocket.

He started the YES network. He was not the first. Boston had NESN. Atlanta has
TBS. But everyone only wants his money. This year, the Mets are following suit
with their own network.

You want to punish him because he is resourceful and creative?

The only reason it is tolerated can be explained in two letters.

Guess which?

I am not going to argue that the balance is too great in one direction. You are
right. There needs to be a better balance. But he is playing by the rules for
which the other owners set up. He didn't agree to those rules. The Yankees were
the only team to vote no on the current CBA.

Regarding the NFL and NBA, they are poor examples because neither you nor my
football (Jets, Browns), or basketball (Knicks, Cavs) teams, had any
championship in recent history. In fact, in the NBA since 1980, 6 teams have 24
championships. The Lakers, Bulls, Celts, Pistons, Spurs, and Rockets. That
doesn't look like balance to me. How do you think the LA clippers feel about
balance? When are my knicks going to win? What about the Jets? Before herm, they
were a league doormat for 25 years.

BTW, I went you the ESPN website to see what the Tribe spent. It was 34 million,
3rd from the bottom. I would also like for you to know that Jim Dolan, the
brother of the owner of the Tribe, is so dead set against the Jets getting a
stadium on the west side, that he offered 600 million for the land that the Jets
want. And he is the guy that essentially owns the Tribe, Knick, Rangers, MSG.

I don't know about you, but if he spends 34 million on your payroll, and has 600
million for land just to keep the jets out, Steinbrenner isn't the problem.
